According to the report, Honda will use its many years of experience to strengthen the production and marketing of the new electric car brand. Sony, on the other hand, focuses on sensors, cameras, communications systems, telecommunications services and entertainment. The new business name between Sony and Honda is Sony Honda Mobility Inc. It will be officially launched in Tokyo from the end of 2022 onwards. The first electric car launch project is scheduled to begin in 2025.
Each company has a stake in Sony Honda Mobility Inc. 50% of them, Honda President Yasuhide Mizuno was appointed Chairman and CEO, while Sony EVP Izumi Kawanishi was appointed Chairman and COO.
